Inclusivity

ASAP is a project aimed at making a social impact, covering the specific social issue and phenomenon of social media and digital content use, and providing services to improve the quality of life of youth and school communities, and their online communication. Hence, the project team has made the most inclusive choice possible about the graphics, colours and the Font used.

The TestMe Font was chosen by Le Nius.

As described by its creators Luciano Perondi and Leonardo Romei, TestMe is “a free, work in progress font based on the principles of Design for All.”

The font is designed in an open format to enhance the readability of ASAP online material for individuals with dyslexia and similar specific learning disorders. The features of the font, such as its shapes and serifs, therefore make ASAP online content more accessible.

COLOURS: To minimise issues with colour blindness, we have been advised to avoid reds and greens; we have opted for complementary colors schemes. Consequently, for the three sections of the site, one dedicated to school kids, one to families and the other to teachers, specific colors have been selected in accordance with these guidelines.

We have conducted a thorough assessment for protanopia (red color blindness) and deuteranopia (green color blindness). Essentially, our focus was to ensure a distinct differentiation between colors and tones, preventing them from blending into a uniform gray scale.

Here are our testing for protanopia and for deuteranopia.
